Have YOU Met YOU? (Part 2)
Have YOU Met YOU? (Part 2)
Hey there? Welcome back. So let’s pick up where we left off.
Here’s a quick review of what we learned in Part 1.
Lesson 1. Never attach your identity to something that can change.
Lesson 2. The only way to truly know yourself is to get to know your Creator, God.
I left you with a searing question at the end of the last blog post: “Could it be possible that the ‘YOU’ you’ve known all these years isn’t the real you?”So let’s dive in. I hope you’re ready. In discovering God and going on the journey to get to know Him, He will begin to reveal Himself to you. God is the master communicator and loves dialogue He will not only talk to you about Him, He will talk to you about you. He will talk to you about who He made you to be, His perfect plan and destiny for your life. He will also make sense of the painful experiences, the losses, the disappointments that you’ve endured. He will take the most heartbreaking events and open your eyes to how He has used them to help perfect you. This perfecting process is your healing process, a process designed to restore you. The definition of restore is “to return to a former condition, place or position.” The Bible talks about restoration in 1 Peter 5:10
And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.”
This restoration journey is God bringing you back to the YOU He created before life’s pain, heartaches, disappointments and traumas damaged you. Could it be that certain aspects of your personality, behaviors, patterns, habits and proclivities are direct results of your pain? And if you gave yourself over to this healing and restoration process you would then become the real YOU?
What I’m saying that the healed YOU is the real you!
It’s the healed YOU that will make the greatest impact in this world. It’s the healed YOU that will effectively influence others to walk in their purpose. It’s the healed YOU that will be able to handle the weight of your God-given assignment. It’s the healed you that will have the power the heal others.
My sister, I implore you today to begin your journey of finding God, open up yourself to Him and ask Him to heal you, deliver you, mature you, fix your shattered emotions, wipe the tears you shed in silence. The word of God says in Psalm 147:3 “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds” He has the power to fully restore you, fully heal anything and everything that has damaged you.
So you can finally, truly BE YOURSELF!
